The second leg of the 2016 Vios Cup will be held from May 21 to 22 at the Filinvest City in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
After a thrilling first leg in Clark International Speedway on March 18, the automotive brand brings back the waku-doki motor sports experience in Manila.
A total of 52 racers including 44 individual teams and eight celebrities will battle it out for the coveted Vios Cup.
“In each season of the Vios Cup, Toyota makes it a point to stage this waku-doki festival in Manila. From Mckinley West in Fort Bonifacio, to the Bayside area of Mall of Asia in Pasay, [and] now to Filinvest City in Alabang,” said Toyota Motor Philippines President Satoru Suzuki.
The term waku-doki pertains to the feeling of anticipation and adrenaline rush a person gets when about to do an exciting activity.
“This 2016, we decided to bring it to a new venue in order for the motoring enthusiasts here in the south of Manila, be able to witness the fun that motor sports brings,” he added.
The Race consists of three main categories namely Super Sporting Class, Sporting Class and Promotional Class.
During the first leg, Toyota Quezon Avenue driver Allan Uy won the Super Sporting Class while Andres Calma and Cebuano racer Daniel Miranda finished second and third, respectively.
Also seeing action in the tourney are Arci Muñoz, Jericho Rosales, Sam YG, Joyce Pring, Phoemela Baranda, Fabio Ide and Jinno Rufino.
Fast and the Furious star and “Drfit King” Keiichi Tsuchiya will entertain the crowd with drifting exhibitions while racer and motors ports enthusiasts James Deakin and Gaby dela Merced will host the program.
