Points leader and GM Motorsports ace driver Andres Calma registered twin wins in the recently concluded 2nd leg of the Vios Cup Season 3 held at the Manila South Circuit in Filinvest City, Alabang.

The pole-sitter in the Super Sporting class, Calma led Race 3 from start to finish edging out Dominic Ochoa of Toyota Quezon Avenue and Raymond Ronquillo of Team Obengers. He crossed the finish line 6 seconds ahead of Ochoa and had the fastest lap time of 1:17.038. 1st leg winner Allan Uy of Toyota Quezon Avenue came in fourth followed by Carlos Loinaz of Toyota Batangas.

Race 4 of the Super Sporting class was once again dominated by Calma but the gap this time was three seconds as Ochoa pushed harder during the last race. His efforts were not enough to snatch the lead from Calma but was able to secure another strong 2nd place finish.  Uy and Ronquillo swapped positions with Uy having the advantage this time. Loinaz completed the top 5  finishers.

In the Sporting class Sam YG who took pole in qualifying failed to bring his car to the starting grid of Race 3 due to mechanical problems.  As a result, P2 driver Sean Velasco of Toyota Cebu took advantage of the situation and crossed the checkered flag  12 seconds ahead of Miko Maristela of Toyota Quezon Avenue-Tonnies. Sen. JV Ejercito of Team Obengers, Toyota San Fernando’s Steve Bicknell  and rookie driver Ben Grimes of AUTS Racing completed the podium positions.
Race 4 was pretty much the same for the Sporting class as the top 4 finishers in Race 3 remained the same. However, Grimes who finished 5th earlier fell down to 11th position. The last spot on the podium went to Gerald Loy.

Marc Martinez of Marc Cars led in Race 3 of the Rota Promotional class. Bobby Pangilinan of Toyota Cebu and Aira Medrano of Toyota Alabang  crossed the line in 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Medrano eventually got her maiden win in Race 4  and set the fastest lap of 1:22.425 finishing ahead of Martinez and Pangilinan.

Jinno Rufino had an easy first race in the morning. Starting from P1, Rufino drove smoothly to finish 17 seconds ahead of 2nd placer Jericho Rosales in the Rota Celebrity class. Model Fabio Ide took the 3rd spot for Race 3.

Rufino once again dominated the afternoon race and clocked a new personal fastest time of 1:23.055.However, Rosales who finished second bested Rufino’s time with a  1:23.020. Ide makes it two in a row with another 2nd runner-up award. New celebrity driver Arci Munoz failed to finish both races.
